Hire T&Cs
**Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using Cilla Hire & Co.** By accessing or using any part of our services, including collection, delivery, or online ordering, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use our services.
By hiring a garment from Cilla Hire & Co, you acknowledge that you are renting the garment for a limited period. Ownership of the garment always remains with Cilla Hire & Co.
+ Hire Fees, Payment, and Confirmation
Full payment is required to secure your hire. A $50 security deposit is required for all garments and must be paid before collection or postage. Your security deposit will be refunded when the garment is returned in acceptable condition. Once payment is made and these Terms are accepted, the hire fee is non-refundable.
All hire fees are **non-refundable**, including for last-minute orders or cancellations, unless specifically stated in these Terms. Orders made using Afterpay or similar services are also **non-refundable**.
Collection, Inspection, and Acceptance
When choosing **local pickup**, you may inspect and try on the garment prior to hire. If you choose not to inspect, you accept the garment in its current condition and sizing, provided it is clean and in reasonable repair.
For **postal or express delivery**, garments will be dispatched on the day agreed upon, using Australia Post express shipping. Tracking information will be provided. A pre-paid return label is included. You must lodge your garment for return on the next business day after your hire and provide proof of postage. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of any bond or security deposit and additional fees.
Risk passes to you at the time of collection or delivery, and you are responsible for the garment until it is returned in accordance with these Terms.
Condition of Garments
Cilla Hire & Co strives to ensure all garments are clean, most of the time professionally dry cleaned, and in excellent condition. However, garments are hired for use and may show minor signs of wear. You accept that small imperfections or repairs may be present due to prior use.
You are responsible for any damage to the garment during the hire period, including but not limited to:
- Fabric damage: rips, tears, holes, fraying, pulled threads, seam splits, fabric balling, or pilling.
- Fasteners & hardware: broken zips, snapped buttons, broken hooks, clasps, or snaps.
- Stains & soiling: food, drinks, ink, makeup, fake tan, sweat, deodorant marks, perfume, vomit, blood, lotion, mud, paint, or any other substance that may permanently affect the garment.
- Odours: smoke, pet smells, body odours, or strong chemical smells that cannot be removed by professional cleaning.
- Burns & heat damage: from cigarettes, candles, irons, heaters, or sun exposure.
- Water or liquid damage: water stains, dye bleeding, or damage caused by wet garments.
- Structural damage: stretching, shrinkage, or distortion of the garment’s shape due to improper wearing or storage.
- Accessory damage: snagging from jewelry, bags, shoes, belts, or other clothing worn with the garment.
- Environmental damage: damage caused by weather, insects, or accidental exposure to hazardous conditions.
- Theft or loss: loss due to theft, misplacement, or failure to return the garment.
If any of the above occurs, you may be required to pay:
- The cost of professional repairs (as assessed by Cilla Hire & Co or a nominated repairer).
- The full recommended retail price (RRP) if the garment is irreparably damaged or lost.
- Additional cleaning or sanitization fees if the garment is returned in an unhygienic condition.
Cilla Hire & Co reserves the right to determine whether a garment is repairable or considered a total loss. Any disputes will be handled at our discretion.
You are encouraged to treat all garments with care, avoiding abrasive accessories, sharp rings, studded bags, sequined clothing, or anything that may cause damage.
Returns
Garments must be returned **by the agreed date**. Returns must be made during operating hours, and after-hours or contactless returns must be arranged through approved locations only. Postal returns must be scanned at a post office; placing garments in a mailbox without scanning may trigger late fees.
Late returns incur a fee of $30 per day and will result in your credit card being charged (may be more depending on the garment) and which may increase if other customers’ hires are affected. Failure to return a garment within a reasonable period (generally 3 days or up to 15 days depending on hire type) will result in your credit card being charged the full RRP of the item.
Late returns incur daily fees. If a late return prevents another customer from hiring the garment, additional charges may apply, including a full hire fee for the affected booking.
Garments must be returned with all original packaging, hangers, and accessories. Missing items may incur additional fees.
Cancellations
All hire fees are non-refundable. Cancellations must be made with at least 14 days’ notice to be eligible for a store credit (70% of the hire value).
If government restrictions prevent your event, proof must be provided to receive a credit.
* Cancellations within 14 days or last-minute bookings may not be eligible for credit.
* Store credit is valid for 6 months from the date of issue and can only be applied to future hires, not retail purchases.
* Reduced or discounted items are not eligible for credit.
Postal Hires
Postal hires are **at your risk**. We are not responsible for delays, lost parcels, or failed deliveries caused by Australia Post. Hire fees may be credited only in cases where we are unable to fulfill your order due to delays, theft, or garment unavailability. Postage costs are non-refundable.
We recommend planning interstate or remote hires **at least 7-8 days in advance** to ensure timely delivery. Express Post is based on Australia Post’s 1-business-day guarantee; if your area is outside this service, it is your responsibility to inform us.
Damage, Loss, or Theft
You are liable for **all damage, loss, or theft** of garments during the hire period. Major damage, irreparable damage requires payment for repair or replacement up to the full RRP.
If a garment is returned damaged beyond repair, you may have the option to retain the garment upon payment of the replacement cost plus any applicable shipping fees.
Garment Care
* Handle garments carefully, avoiding abrasive accessories, sharp jewellery, or sequined bags.
* Garments must not be washed or altered.
* Dry cleaning is included in the hire fee.
Try-On Appointments
A **booking fee** is required to secure try-on appointments. This fee is non-refundable if:
* You fail to attend the appointment.
* You cancel with late notice.
* You choose not to hire after trying on.
Inspection of garments prior to hire is recommended; choosing not to inspect implies acceptance of garment condition and sizing.
Retail and Pre-Loved Items
All retail purchases are **non-refundable**. No exchanges, store credit, or refunds are provided on items for sale, including pre-loved items.
Social Media
If sharing photos of your hire on social media, tag @cillahireco. We will send you a discont code for your next hire!
Privacy
We collect and hold personal information, including driver’s license details, for hire verification and insurance purposes. All personal information is stored securely and used in accordance with privacy laws.
Changes to Terms
Cilla Hire & Co reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
